A young entrepreneur has revealed how he’s earning as much $100,000 a month through his e-commerce businesses.
At the age of 14, Lukas Tsimopoulos, from Adelaide, South Australia started selling products on eBay after being ‘driven out of boredom’ during school hours, which he continued to do for a few years.
What started as a distraction to pass time turned into passion and profit, as Lukas learnt the key to what makes an online business successful and how to sell products well.
The now 20-year-old has built multiple online brands that have together made more than six figures in profit, but the most popular is his beauty and health outlet that focuses on different skincare products from overseas.
With his successful track record, Lukas is currently on track to earning more than $100,000 per month.
He told FEMAIL his road to success was challenging at times, but believes anyone can accomplish what he has achieved and make money through e-commerce.

While selling products on eBay, Lukas discovered a new business model that helped him transition from working in hospitality at his family’s restaurants to building several online e-commerce stores that made multiple six-figure profits within only a few months.
To make the swift profits, he began using the ‘dropshipping business model method’ that involves shipping products from the manufacturer directly to the customer without the supplier or retailer ever seeing it.
‘The beauty of this business model is that you never even have to hold inventory of your product either, you can find well-known trusted suppliers that are able to source your product for you with no minimum order requirements,’ Lukas said.
He described his success as a ‘snowball effect’ that continued to grow quickly and lead to gaining an online Instagram following of more than 110,000 people.

But before the online retail brands boomed, he experienced ‘countless failed stores’ that made little profit, but discovered the beauty and health niche worked best at selling products online fast.
Two popular products Lukas currently sells includes an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Hair Removal Handset for $98.97 and a Microdermabrasion Kit for $78.97.
The IPL hair removal handset allows customers to complete clinical grade treatments in the comfort of their own home in a safe and effective way.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions that have occurred throughout this year, this product was a huge problem solver for those who wanted to continue laser hair removal treatments themselves.
Similar to the hair removal handset, the Microdermabrasion Kit is designed for comfortable at-home use of effective microdermabrasion skincare treatment.
This product focuses on exfoliating the outer layers of skin by removing blackheads and excess oils and is also great for preventing breakouts.
Previously Lukas experimented selling tech supplies and fitness products, though these didn’t sell as well.

WHAT IS DROPSHIPPING?
Dropshipping is an order fulfilment method that does not require a business to keep products in stock
Instead, the store sells the product, and passes on the sales order to a third-party supplier, who then ships the order to the customer
However, contrary to popular belief, dropshipping is not a get-rich-quick scheme

Unlike full-time jobs that require employees to work 9-5 at a desired location, Lukas said his online businesses give him the opportunity to work anywhere.
‘It’s the only business model that makes sense to achieve true location-neutral income – imagine being able to literally work anywhere you like as long as you have internet access,’ he said.
But despite this perk and ability to work freely, he said this ‘doesn’t mean business comes easy’.
‘Business is hard, anything worth having takes consistency,’ he said.
‘Everyone has different business models, but the one thing that will help you scale your business, is having a strong vision that you can present to others clearly.’
Lukas added while it may seem unrealistic to make hundreds of thousands of dollars at home from your laptop, he’s proven it’s certainly possible with enough enthusiasm and dedication.

Lukas said a ‘key factor’ to the huge e-commerce success correlates to great communication and customer service skills along with strategic advertising methods
Lukas said a ‘key factor’ to the huge e-commerce success correlates to great communication and customer service skills along with strategic advertising methods.
‘Having a strong imprint with your customers and having that available support for them is crucial in terms of gaining insight on whether they are happy with your product or service and how to move forwards in terms of growth,’ he said.
Lukas is also known to give business insights on his personal Instagram page, where he previously stated ‘e-commerce is not as complicated as people make it seem, think about it, it’s literally selling things online’.
‘The only thing that separates people who are good at e-commerce and the people who aren’t as good is purely how they advertise and brand their store,’ he said online.
On a separate occasion he also outlined how to breakdown sales targets into yearly, months and daily goals.
‘Business is full of bright and dark days, and can quickly become a turning point in your life where you will never look back again,’ he said
When asked what advice he would give to other young entrepreneurs, Luke said to ‘have a strong vision of exactly where you want to be long-term, and make sure that what you are doing every single day, is going to actually push you towards that long-term vision.’
He also mentioned that it is super important to set mini-goals and to celebrate when you achieve them too.
