PALM BEACH GARDENS — While not an ideal time to launch a new business amid a global pandemic, longtime friends Steve Mathison and Charles Siebrecht forged ahead with it anyway.
The South Florida natives, along with partner Brig Edwards, opened Professional Real Estate Advisors over the summer.
The Palm Beach Gardens-based business offers comprehensive professional and legal services focused solely on the real estate industry.

The business is unique to the South Florida real estate market, said Siebrecht, serving as a one-stop shop for companies, individuals and real estate agents.
“We have decades of experience in the real estate market on the legal, listing, buying and appraising side of the business,” said Siebrecht, a real estate broker and certified residential appraiser who owns Palm Beach Gardens-based Siebrecht Properties and Siebrecht Appraising. “We want to be the quiet force in real estate.”
Like Siebrecht, who lives in Jupiter, Mathison and Edwards also have plenty of experience in the real estate industry, and they were eager to combine their expertise in launching their new business venture.
Mathison, who is managing partner of Mathison Whittles LLP, has practiced real estate, business and estate planning law in Palm Beach County for more than 35 years and has worked on projects such as BallenIsles, The Gardens Mall and Avenir.
Edwards, a Realtor and state-certified general appraiser, has 30 years of real estate valuation and consulting experience.
“Steve, Brig and I all have proven track records when it comes to our businesses,” Siebrecht said. “We are proud of our long-standing clients, and look forward to merging our attributes into one company.”
PRA, which Mathison, Siebrecht and Edwards will run in addition to their other work responsibilities, has drawn a diverse group of clients since it first launched several months ago, Mathison said.
Plans are to build the company slowly as the real estate market comes back following a coronavirus-induced slowdown.
“We’re very pleased with how we’re proceeding,” Mathison said. “We want to proceed more organically and not try to be big fast. We’d rather provide high-quality service. I think we’ll always be considered a boutique. We’re about our people and our relationships with clients.”
Because of coronavirus concerns, Mathison, Siebrecht and Edwards currently are closing transactions by overnight mail and electronic secure transfer in addition to going to clients to execute closing documentation.
Drive-by signings of real estate transactions also are being conducted in the courtyard of the Mathison Whittles office building at 5606 PGA Blvd.
Mathison recently bought the building earlier this year from Siebrecht’s family. Professional Real Estate Associates is based there, as are Siebrecht’s businesses.
“Charles’ father actually purchased the land in the late 1970s, and his mother was my landlord at this property until I purchased it in 2020,” Mathison said. “With this new chapter, our goal with PRA is to continue to contribute to the quality of life for northern Palm Beach County businesses and residents.”
