Plan adopted to restore dozens of trees erroneously cleared at Bedford apartment site | Business

After about 90 trees were removed at the future Bow Lane apartment complex behind Bedford High School, some of them without permission, town planners this week approved a new landscaping plan designed to correct the error.

A cease-and-desist order had been issued this summer to developers Dick Anagnost and Bill Greiner after trees were cut early, with some of the clearing exceeding what was conditionally granted by the planning board.

Minneapolis Business at Site of George Floyd Killing Threatens to Sue City over ‘Autonomous Zone’

The owner of a grocery store at the site of the George Floyd killing in Minneapolis, Minn., has threatened to sue the mayor and city council over the establishment of an “autonomous zone” that the owner says is hurting businesses in the area, KTSP News reported on Thursday.

Florida locations selected for Duke Energy’s 2020 Site Readiness Program to attract jobs and spur economic development

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., Oct. 8, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Three Florida properties have been selected to participate in Duke Energy’s Site Readiness Program. In Florida, the program has led to $165 million in investment and 615 jobs over the last seven years. 

The new sites are Tropicana Field Site in Pinellas County, 472 Properties in Volusia County, and Frostproof Business Park Site in Polk County. The Site Readiness Program will prepare these new sites for targeted commercial and industrial development to attract future capital investment. Since 2013, Duke Energy has selected 34 high-quality industrial sites in Florida to participate in the program.

Duke Energy works with site owners, local economic development professionals, and county and city officials to identify each participating property’s current status and develop a strategy for providing water, sewer, natural gas and electricity needed for development.
